We are invited to revolution.

We are invited to revolutionize our understandings of gender, an inheritance from colonialists who wanted control more than they wanted humanity.  Control more than evolution.  But in the words of esteemed ancestor Octavia Butler, “God is change.”

The truth is, this is not new.
The truth is, we have always known better.
We have always known that we are multiple.
That all kinds of bodies carry all kinds of spirits.
That all kinds of bodies love all kinds of bodies.
In all kinds of ways.
It is the simplest thing actually.
That we are boundless.
That gender is not a binary but an eco-system.

And yet, that which has been organized against life,
that which is never full and always hungry,
has colonized our imagination.

A dear friend, Linda Labeija, has said, “transphobia is fear of imagination.”

May we re-imagine the imagination.
May we “be humble” like Kendrick proclaims.
May we be lead by our Trans Kin.
Who are sacred
Who are sacred
Who are boundless.
