I was born abroad in Pakistan and I was in law school when I became a citizen. I took my oath in the court of the Brooklyn DA, the same court I worked in while I was in law school. I waited 25 years to take that oath, which many people take for granted. That oath was true to me then and its true to me to now, when that same court practiced an injunction against Trumps travel ban. I'm proud to be an American.
